Like vegetarians, vegans do not eat meat (including beef, pork, poultry, fowl, game, animal seafood). The main difference between a vegan and vegetarian diet is that vegans exclude dairy products and eggs. Ethical vegans avoid them on the premise that their production causes animal suffering and premature death.

Quick and Easy Vegan Snack Ideas

Let’s get these goodies started! It’s simple and enjoyable to make your own healthy vegan snacks. There’s no end to the ideas you may come up with once you figure out how to make quick vegan snacks. I’ve included some of my favorite healthy commercial snacks as well as some suggestions for making plant-based snacks at home.

Vegan Snack Ideas: Quick Homemade Trail Mix

One of my favorite nut and fruit combinations is goji berries. It is strong in antioxidants, vitamins, and lipids and has just the right amount of sweetness. Mix together around 20 almonds and 20 goji berries for a fast snack any time of day. Add 1-2 tablespoons vegan Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips for a delicious treat!

Goji berries and almonds aren’t the only fruit and nut combination to try. Check out my post on how to stock a vegan pantry to get everything you need to make delicious homemade trail mix for snacking. Nuts, seeds, coconut, cacao nibs, and dried fruit can be used in any combination.

The following is a list of the top Vegan Trail Mix Ingredients:

  • Cacao nibs, dairy-free chocolate chips, or dark chocolate chunks
  • Cashews, walnuts, almonds, pecans, hazelnuts, and pistachios are examples of nuts.
  • Pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, or pepitas are examples of seeds.
  • Chopped dried apricots, dates, raisins, dried cranberries, blueberries, or cherries, and chopped dried mango
  • Try using some of my homemade baked apple chips in place of the store-bought ones.
  • To make a quick vegan snack with these items, combine a few spoonfuls of each of your favorites in a small bowl or to-go container, and enjoy.

Vegan Snack Ideas: Homemade Energy Bites and Bars

Raw energy bites are one of the simplest and most delicious snacks to have on hand during the week. Make a big batch on the weekend and keep it in the fridge so you can grab a few when you’re hungry. Because many are packed with ingredients like hemp seeds, crushed flax, almonds, or cashews, they’re also a wonderful way to get vital omega-3 fats into your diet.

Vegan Snack Ideas: Fat Balls

Fat balls are simple to prepare, full, and tasty. Higher-fat components including coconut butter, coconut oil, nuts and nut butters, and seeds are blended together to make them. You may sweeten it up with a few dates. In my week 4 dinner post, I included a fast dish for one.

Vegan Snack Ideas: Sliced Fruit with Cashew Cream

This is one of the simplest and most delicious snacks you can find. Cut an apple, pear, or other fruit into thin slices and dip it in the sauce! One of my favorite cashew cream flavors is maple cashew cream, but you can flavor cashew cream with anything you like.

To make cashew cream, combine raw cashews, water, and sugar in a blender and process until smooth and creamy. Soak cashews for 4 hours to overnight and drain before using for optimal results. You can find complete instructions for making cashew cream here.

Cashew cream makes being dairy-free a breeze; it can be made into sour cream, cream cheese, ranch dressing, and may be used to substitute cream in a variety of recipes. (Try it in my Tofu Butter Chickn’ Vegan Butter Chickn’!)

Vegan Snack Ideas: Ants on a Log

Totally delectable adult ants on a log! Although children will like these small goodies as well. If you don’t have any goji berries on hand, chopped dates, raisins, or cranberries will suffice. In place of almond butter, you can use tahini, peanut butter, cashew butter, or sunflower seed butter.
